When you are trying to claim someone's bounty, many things may happen 1 - You win the battle, however the player is still alive, and other players are hitting the player as well, which might cause the player to die after you attack them 2 - You win the battle AND you killed the player, thus claiming the bounty reward. 3 - You lose the battle, you lose some HP but you are still alive and may choose to attack the player on bounty again. The player receives some XP for winning the battle. 4 - You lose the battle AND you die, aka "Splatt". You lose some XP (-20 XP for example) and the player who is on bounty gains more XP than what they would if you had just lost the battle. 5 - Your GPS is still trying to locate the player - You attacked too early. If the player is of a lower level then you then you may have to wait up to 2 minutes to attack them. 6 - The general you are trying to attack is already dead - you attacked too late, the player who was on bounty is dead already, try attacking another player on bounty.
